Where Can I Work In Squamish?
When I first moved to Squamish a few years ago, I was remotely working from cafés almost everyday.
Like many freelance workers and entrepreneurs I bounced between the regular Squamish spots: The Zephyr Cafe, Cloudburst Cafe, The Joinery (once it opened and had some heat). I saw the same people day in and day out. It was like we moved as a group, following WiFi, the aroma of fresh coffee, and the promise of a quiet moment for a call. I loved the remote worker / cafe life—until it was 3pm.
Then, I—and all the other destitute remote workers in Squamish—suddenly had no where to go.
Cafes started closing up. The Zephyr got so crowded we couldn’t take a professional phone calls anymore. We were either forced home (and we all know how much work gets done there), or would wait for various evening restaurants to open and poach their Wifi.
I kept asking, “Where can I reliably work in Squamish between the hours of 3pm and 5pm?” when there’s that strange lull between cafes closing and dinner restaurants opening?
